Microweld joins the Acrotec Group

As Acrotec’s diversification strategy continues to grow, it welcomes a new company specialising in laser applications into the Group.

Microweld, founded in 1997 by Norbert Giraud in Chavanod, Haute-Savoie, specialises in laser applications. With around forty employees across two sites, Microweld uses this technology for various processes, including microwelding, microcutting, surface structuring and ablation for medical, aerospace, automotive, mechatronics and other industries. The company’s skills and expertise should enable the Group not only to develop its activity and broaden its scope but also to increase the services of its medical division.

Norbert Giraud, CEO of Microweld, believes that joining Acrotec will enable them to start new projects, including exporting to the US. It could also allow them to collaborate with other Group member companies, particularly in the medical and high-tech sectors.

With the R&D centre set up over a year ago, the Savoie-based company could also develop new technologies in its field. This would bring both Microweld and Acrotec considerable added value.
