The company is recognised in Switzerland and abroad for its expertise in the fields of microengineering and micromechanics. Mimotec SA has been working for more than twenty years in the service of excellence since its foundation in November 1998 by Dr. Hubert Lorenz following his thesis work. Since then it has been striving for excellence. Through constant innovation and with the permanent acquisition of new skills, the company continues its development in all fields related to microfabrication.

Core Strengths

Mimotec manufactures its components using the UV-LIGA method, inspired by microelectronic technologies. Many patents protect the technological advances made by the company. More than 2500 articles are produced each year ranging from the micro-watch piece to the plastic injection micro-mould and finally to the anti-counterfeiting solutions (CLR-LIGA). The UV-LIGA technique combines the processes of photolithography and electroforming. This additive manufacturing method combines lower production costs and rapid implementation, which makes it difficult for traditional material removal processes to compete with. Using UV-LIGA, a large variety of shapes can be formed at a level of detail that the classic production cannot achieve. Ideal for rapid prototyping and serial production, this technique allows to attain micrometric precision as well as unmatched surface quality.
