Elisabeth Saulcy becomes CEO of STS as the company continues to grow

After two years as co-CEO alongside her brother, Elisabeth Saulcy became the new CEO of STS, leader in surface treatments for high-end watchmaking, on January 1, 2024.

Founded in 2006 in the Canton of Vaud, STS (Saulcy Traitement de Surface) has rapidly grown to become the benchmark in the field of electroplating and surface treatments for the watchmaking industry. Over the years, STS has also diversified its activities into other sectors, such as connector technology and the medical sector, offering galvanic treatments adapted to these sectors, as well as precision anodizing of aluminum.

Growth and diversification are spread across the company’s four production sites in Meyrin, La Vallée de Joux, La Chaux-de-Fonds and Develier.

An important page in the history of STS was turned at the beginning of the year with the appointment of Elisabeth Saulcy as CEO, after 2 years as co-CEO with her brother Frédéric Saulcy.

“It’s a smooth transition, in line with the existing governance,” explains Elisabeth Saulcy.” I joined STS 10 years ago, and the company’s values are deeply rooted in our DNA. We’re very attached to the quality of our products and the well-being of our employees, particularly the equal treatment of men and women, since we have 70% female employees. Frédéric becomes Senior Advisor and I will manage the company in consultation with Jérémy David, R&D Director, and my site managers, Gaëlle Mesnier and Yane Aschwanden. I will remain in charge of the Meyrin site in the canton of Geneva.”

This transition comes at a time when STS is in excellent health. “We have just completed a satisfactory 2023 financial year,” explains Elisabeth Saulcy. STS continues to grow with the extension of our La Chaux-de-Fonds sites and the takeover of the KIF-Parechoc premises in the Vallée de Joux. Our workforce has now stabilized at 140 employees.”
